Meet Our Teachers
Introducing eight of our talented teachers
Mr Lehmensich
Mr Lehmensich is a past student of MacKillop. He worked as a primary school teacher in a number of the local Catholic schools before returning to MacKillop as a staff member. He is now a Nationally Certified 鈥楬ighly Accomplished鈥� Teacher. He听teaches STEM, Technology, Science, Humanities, and also leads the College鈥檚 Infinite Program for academically gifted students.
Miss Sullivan
Miss Sullivan graduated with a teaching degree during the COVID years and then landed a job at MacKillop as a Science teacher, which allowed her to teach students about the things she finds most fascinating. She now also works in the Learning Commons, where she designs lessons with high impact teaching strategies that are fun and teach critical skills to students. Miss Sullivan has been recognised by Catholic Education as an exemplar of high impact teaching.
Mr Kain
Who do you want as the teacher of your Cooking and Hospitality subjects? You probably want Mr Kain 鈥� a teacher with well over a decade of experience working as a chef. After making the switch to education, Mr Kain worked in several local Catholic primary schools before joining MacKillop in 2013, where he could teach in the College鈥檚听industrial kitchens. Outside the classroom, Mr Kain is the College's Defence Student Mentor.
Ms Fahey
Ms Fahey has worked in roles as Sports Coordinator and the PE Faculty Head. In her current听role as Community Engagement Coordinator, Ms Fahey is responsible for helping MacKillop build relationships with the community and for providing students with opportunities for skill building, networking, and leadership. Ms Fahey is a highly accomplished athlete听and enjoys mentoring the school's elite athletes in the PE Pathways Program.
Ms Gearside
Ms Charlotte Gearside joined MacKillop in 2026 as the Coordinator of Performance. In this role, she oversees the College鈥檚 co-curricular performing arts programs, such as the Musical, ensembles, instrumental tuition, dance groups, and Drama Club. As an active member of the Canberra theatre scene (as an actor, director, and choreographer), she is able to share her knowledge and experience with students in her classes and the co-curricular programs.
Mr Wilson
Mr Wilson鈥檚 teaching career began in primary schools before he joined MacKillop a decade听ago. Having taught Geography and Religious Studies on both campuses, Mr Wilson currently holds the role of Digital Learning Coordinator, where he looks at how teachers can use technology and online platforms (including AI) to engage students and support parents.听As part of this role, he also explores听the implementation of new and improved methods of听teaching and learning.
Ms Brown
Ms Brown grew up all over NSW before attending high school in Taree. Even though she wanted to become a teacher, she studied a Business (Accounting) degree at university and worked as an accountant for ten years. After completing her teaching qualifications in 2020, Ms Brown got into teaching and moved to MacKillop in 2022. Ms Brown has held the role of the SRC Facilitator and is now听the Mathematics Coordinator AND the STEM Coordinator on the Padua Campus.
Mr Johnson
MacKillop loves to employ teachers who bring industry experience to their areas of teaching. Mr Johnson is a great example of this, with his experience as a lawyer proving invaluable in the education of the College鈥檚 Legal Studies students. During his time at MacKillop, Mr Johnson has听held the positions of Year 12 Coordinator and International Programs Officer, where he organised international travel and the exchange program with MacKillop鈥檚 sister schools in Japan, Italy, and France.
